Drew Van Gorder – Pastor, Elder of Teaching & Vision

Andrew Van Gorder was born in Bradenton, FL and lived there for the first 10 years of his life.  His parents became in-state missionaries soon after and this led them to moving from Florida, to Missouri, and eventually to Colorado Springs.  Andrew never came to a full realization of what a life with Christ meant, however, until he was 19 years of age. During the next few years, Andrew married his wife, Rachel, and worked different jobs until he became a corrections officer for the state of Colorado in 2007. He became an active member of ERT (special teams) for the state. During his time in law enforcement, Andrew felt the calling of God in his life to become a pastor. Andrew resigned from law enforcement, started a bible study in his basement and began attending Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in 2010. Andrew is currently a church planter and the head pastor of Breathe Church on the east side of Colorado Springs and is pursing his Master’s of Divinity from Golden Gate.  Andrew is passionate about his family, teaching, writing, and preaching the Word of God.  He is also passionate about the biblical languages, theology, and philosophy.

Mitch Schwager – Head Deacon, Finances

Mitchell Schwager was born in Tacoma, WA and spent most of his youth between separated homes of Tacoma and Chicago Illinois.  At 13 Mitch was provided a bit of culture shock moving from heavily populous areas to that of rural Peyton, CO where he met long time friend Pastor (Andrew Van Gorder).  Shaped with skewed views on family life found comfort in athletics and  friendships made in his teenage years.  For most of his teenage life he spent in and out of the church but, after some life altering events the only solace he could find was in reading the word of God.  After a severe stint with cancer Mitch was tried more then he could think ever possible and his faith was renewed.  At this point his life long pal had started a church plant ministry, Mitch thought what better way to help contribute to the calling.  He has spent most of his life in finance and has a drawing to numbers.  In his free time he enjoys sporting events, music, and game nights with all of his loved ones. He is also married and enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife Kellie and his children; Abel and Naava.
